| Concert Quatuor à Cordes Archinto à Baron, France, 2010 Archinto is a string quartet based in Paris, France. The artistic approach of its members is to search for authentic sources: manuscripts, ancient letters and reviews help to revisit the notions of style, articulations, dynamics, nuances. This "historic" process is echoed in their close involvement in orchestral ensembles such as Les Folies Françaises, Le Cercle de l'Harmonie. To best defend musical integrity and also find playing conditions closer to those of origin, the quartet Archinto uses gut strings, as used until the early twentieth century. The quartet plays from village to village, in sometimes unexpected places and functions as a small festival itself. It plays where the regulars do not hear so often echoes from the stones of their Romanesque churches and chapels. This concert offers one of the last quartets of Haydn and Beethoven. Mature works of extreme richness of these two great composers, a must for this type of ensemble and for music lovers. It has been specially recorded for 5.1 surround sound.
